The brand name "Spring Shepherd Art" is something I received in a dream after asking God what the name should be.


■Profile

Paper cutting artist.
Living in Kansai　Japan.
I started paper cutting on my own and self-study.

I originally worked in fields related to healing—such as herbs and aromatherapy—and drew inspiration from traveling to various countries during breaks from work.


I especially love the sacred spaces and atmospheres of the churches I encountered in Europe—particularly in Germany and Ireland—and I also have an interest in jewelry, architecture, and the decorative arts.


Later, wanting to express through paper-cutting the profound emotion I felt upon experiencing the energy of light and prayer inherent in stained glass, I began creating paper art works on my own in 2015.


Also, during a stay of several months on the Big Island of Hawaii, I encountered the beauty of the island's nature and its people, as well as its wonderful energy, and I felt a profound change within myself.


I realized that all those journeys and experiences were connected, and I became convinced that I was on the right path.

The works share a common theme of "spirituality and the inner self."

They offer a deep exploration of the human heart and mind—examining the products of thought, the spectrum of emotions, moments of realization and connection, consciousness, and lived experiences.

I also draw inspiration from the fragmented images, patterns, and messages encountered in dreams, incorporating them into the paper-cutting process.

These pieces express a longing for the small lights and hopes that endure even within the darkness—much like discovering and opening a jewelry box hidden in the gloom.


The name "Kami Stained Glass" was chosen to signify stained glass art created using paper while connecting with the universe. (It is not affiliated with any religion.)
